HOW TO SUBMIT BOOKS FOR CONSIDERATION:

A book must be nominated by its publisher via this Submission Form online – https://bit.ly/glli-prize-submission

If anyone else feels a book deserves to be nominated, they should contact the publisher to nominate the book.

See the Purpose & Criteria page for details about the Prize.

Publishers must send one digital copy (PDF preferred) and one hard copy of each nominated title. Details about where to send the books will be included in a confirmation email.

Digital copies will not be distributed outside the committee.

Print copies will be retained by GLLI as part of the International Youth Collection at Rutgers University, and indexed in GLLI’s database of children’s and YA literature in translation.

There is no entry fee for this prize.

Books published in the past three years are eligible, e.g., for the 2027 prize, books must be published in 2024, 2025, or 2026. If books have been previously submitted for the award, there is no need to resubmit. The committee will consider eligible earlier submissions for the 2027 prize. Only titles from 2024 or 2025 that were not shortlisted may be considered for the 2027 award, at the discretion of the committee.

Please note:

GLLI will confirm the receipt of all title submissions. If you have nominated books for consideration and have not received confirmation after a reasonable amount of time, please contact us at glli.translated.ya.book.prize@gmail.com.

The shortlist will be announced on or around April 2nd, which is International Children’s Book Day, and the winner and any honor books will be announced by the end of May (the month the GLLI blog devotes to International YA Literature – #INTYALITMONTH).

DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING BOOKS IS DECEMBER 15th of each year in order to be eligible for the following year’s Prize.

Early submissions are appreciated.
