Announcing the Shortlist for the 2025 Global Literature in Libraries Initiative Translated Young Adult Book Prize

The 2025 GLLI Translated Young Adult Book Prize Committee is pleased to announce the shortlist for the 2025 prize.  This is the seventh year of the GLLI Translated YA Book Prize, which recognizes publishers, translators, and authors of books in English translation for young adult readers, aged 12 through 18 inclusive.

Publisher submissions to the 2025 longlist consisted of twenty-five books in fourteen languages, published within the past three years.  See the prize criteria here and submission guidelines here.

The seven books on the 2025 shortlist, in alphabetical order by title, are:

The prize winners will be announced in-person and virtually on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, as part of a celebration of International Children’s Day at Rutgers University’s Alexander Library, which houses the International Youth Literature Collection (IYLC) and hosts the IYLC Research (Lib)Guide.

Note: The International Youth Literature Collection is a repository for all of the physical copies of the GLLI submissions each year.
